Wire as puristic material is the basic shape of these torsi derived from the body measurements of the artist.Filled with beeswax, jute fibre and Asian papers they are indications of archaic cultures.Plastic-package-strings, filmstrips and soundtracks experience are turned into sculptural garments suggesting usability, although being unfunctional at the end.
The layering of transparent forms in different sizes reveals the materiality of density and dissolution.
The Torsi in their physicalness and immaterialness at the same time are signs for emptyness and
abundance, interior and exterior, protection and cover. |
